Always a mystery how things transpire: I submitted a chapbook to Blue Lyra’s Matthew Silverman on February 7 after seeing Ami Kaye’s (Glass Lyre Press) post about his Delphi Poetry Series call.
Through this acceptance, I’ve found two new friends in my fellow Delphi contributors Allison Blevins and Saul Hillel Benjamin. The first of these friendships has led to my being offered a poetry editor job for Harbor Review and the inspired idea to formalize Inklings’ fourth Friday’s open mic into an official reading series (Inklings’ FOURTH FRIDAYS READING SERIES) in which Shawn Pavey is launching his Survival Tips for the Pending Apocalypse with Victor Clevenger Friday, June 28, Allison is launching Susurration with Charlotte Seley on July 26, and I am launching my third collection, Coming Home with Cancer on August 23, For the third time, I will launch at Inklings’ Books & Coffee Shoppe, my alma mater of used bookstores, my home away from home.
Maryfrances Wagner has graciously agreed to open for me.
By now these things are beginning to feel like family reunions. Be great to see you there.
